Well, since ‘Wien’ is ‘Vienna’ in German, and these are therefore ‘Viennese’ nougats…it’s not really that odd of a name.
Just because it’s in a different language?
Anyway, the chocolate is brilliant. You can buy it in a number of places online. Look for Scandinavian stores, and also keep an eye out for the chocolate-filled egg shells Fazer produces for Easter. Those are just amazing!

I can assure you this is the best chocolate I have ever eaten. And the almonds are sliced so thin, I bet you could read through them. If anyone knows how to order this, please post it.

The name may indeed sound odd, although as Anne pointed out, if just refers to Vienna and sounds perfectly normal if your used to other languages than English. The manufacturer of this chocolate is Fazer, a Finnish company founded in 1891 employing 13.000 people – it is not a division of Midco, which may of course distribute its products in Italy.

*hangs head* Well, we pronounce it “wee-ner”. And the dancing couple? They’re doing a wiener waltz. From Vienna. (Which is also known as, of course, Wien.) Hence the name.

Oh, I can assure you that it’s actually *very* tasty! It’s soft and chocolatey with flaked toasted almonds – very yum. Never thought of the name as amusing before though. :)
