Chocolate chips are just bits off a chocolate bar shaped nicely:) Anyways most popular brands have made chips such as Reese’s and Skor(any Canadians out here)

Candy is a state of mind. So chocolate is definitely candy.

I think chocolate chips are both a baking aid AND a candy, and I often do eat them “as is” when I have them in the house. All they are is teeny-tiny chocolate kisses.

If chocolate chips are not candy, then neither are chocolate bars of any kind, right? By the Wikipedia definition, would a Snickers or a Reese’s be candy?
Here’s what I think: Chocolate is a subcategory (among so many other subcategories) of candy. And chocolate chips are simply one form of chocolate. Just because we stir them into cookies does not preclude them from being candy. Anyone with me?

I think chips can be candy depends how you eat them
if I melt them into molds they’d be candy so yes I think they are candy.
