Candy Cologne (and other weird scents)

Play-Doh Colgne Spray

Do you have a date coming up with a fellow Candy Addict and are looking for just the right fragrance to let them know you love candy as much as they do? Look no further. The Demeter Fragrance Library stocks several candy-related flavors, including Cotton Candy, Bubble Gum, Caramel, and even Pure Sugar Cane, as well as a few others.

I can’t think of a better way to prove your love of Cotton Candy than to walk around smelling like it all day. Your co-workers will appreciate it too! Or perhaps you’ve recently gone on a diet and have decided to cut candy out of your life, what better way to torture yourself than to smell candy on yourself all day long!

If you don’t want to smell like candy (and why wouldn’t you?), you can choose other oddball fragrances like Paperback Books, Lobster (described as “The sea, sweet meat, and a hint of drawn butter.”), and my personal favorite, Play-Doh (“Those fresh-from-the-can, full-of-potenial, childhood memories. Now in a convenient spray.”)!

[my favorite is either Earthworm or Mildew -ed]

Prices start around $20 so you could smell like a candy store and still have money left over to actually buy some candy.

Earthworm, huh? Makes me wonder if there’s a connection to the Harry Potter “Jelly Belly” Earthworm beans. I know one is taste and the other is smell, but my sense is that when one of the flavor companies start making (or marketing) a new flavor, suddenly you see all these new products with it. Case’in’point, S’mores flavored stuff (or toasted marshmellow).

RESPONSE: I definitely agree that companies piggy back off each other for ideas and flavors. Since the launch of POM juice a few years ago, over 350 different products have been released with pomegranate flavoring, when there were virtually none when they launched.

Ooh, I might have to get some of this stuff! I used to have kiddie sugar cookie perfume. It smelled awesome and I got tons of compliments, but it did kind of make me crave sugar cookies. (Seconded on the lobster smell, though. What the heck??)

I don’t think I could tell somebody that I was wearing a scent by “Playdoh” without rolling on the floor laughing.

I’m not big on smelling like fruit so I certainly would not want to smell like candy or playdoh.
