Over the weekend, the gang over at Hasbro/Cap Candy sent me some samples of the new Harry Potter Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans that are due out on the market sometime around February 2007. Words can’t express how excited I was when I saw them. It literally gave me goosebumps knowing that I had candy that very few other people in the world had. So cool!
One of the new flavors is sausage and the other is pickle. My five-year-old daughter LOVES pickles so she was excited to try it. She took a few chews and spit it out and said “Daddy, I don’t like it”. My sister and I tried it too and it didn’t taste anything like pickles to either of us. It didn’t taste bad but it didn’t taste good.
Sausage was another story. My sister and I popped one in our mouths at the same time and we spit it out at almost the same time – after maybe two chews. DISGUSTING. It almost made me gag and my sister actually did gag. Sausage was way nastier than any of the other gross flavored jellybeans I have tried – even worse than vomit. It didn’t taste like sausage it just tasted NASTY.
As I said earlier, these are due out on the market sometime in early 2007 and they will replace two “normal” flavors in the Bertie Bott’s pack. You can even see that these two new flavors are mentioned on the Hasbro website. These two new flavors (especially sausage) will be two more flavors to avoid when eating Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans!
(Look for another exclusive Harry Potter candy sneak peek tomorrow – this time it’s a brand new Harry Potter candy coming in early 2007.)

August 29th, 2006 at 12:54 pmThat’s interesting that you said that because I was just eating some of the ant bully sweet rocks a few minutes ago (i tricked both my sister and my best friend into eating the dirt one, sweet!)
August 29th, 2006 at 4:14 pmI wish that Jelly Belly would release gummies that were all of their Jelly Belly flavors. Those Harry Potter Gummy Slugs were great!

August 30th, 2006 at 2:41 amI still haven’t had the courage to try the vomit one. Bacon was horrible! So is sardine. Meat and candy aren’t good combos.
RESPONSE: Agreed :)

Ugh. It is hard for me to believe that the sausage flavor is WORSE than the vomit flavored one. Love the site, Brian.
RESPONSE: It is :) And thanks!

September 19th, 2006 at 11:03 amAre the new sausage and pickle bertie botts out in stores yet?
February 19th, 2007 at 12:39 pmI never new the Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans existed like in real life. I never saw them on the market can yuh get them in Ireland in a normal shop?
April 14th, 2007 at 4:10 pmI have to agree with you, Brian. I had the sausage flavor this weekend. Putrid!
April 22nd, 2007 at 10:42 pmUr right – sausage is GR – OSS to the xtreme – worse even than bacon. But the pickle one is GOOOOOOOD — I love dill pickles, so I am a fan of the pickle flavor!
May 17th, 2007 at 1:02 amok, so they didnt nail the flavor on the sausage ones…but look at the positive. They look like little sausages. :D
July 1st, 2007 at 4:35 pmI just don’t understand why they keep replacing the good flavours with disgusting ones! I stopped buying them because pretty much every flavour was gross, and they are too expensive to waste money on disgusting jellybeans. Are they trying to drive away their customers??
July 2nd, 2007 at 10:03 pmI am from St. Louis and I am trying to find out where to buy them other than online? I have heard a few places but not sure where?
July 21st, 2007 at 4:35 pmSorry forgot to specify what I was talking about I want to know where to buy Harry Potter Bertie’s Botts Jelly Beans?
July 21st, 2007 at 4:39 pmI have seen them at bed, Bath, and Beyond near the checkout and also at Toys R Us. You could also try calling/checking any local candy shops in your area. I would think candy shops in the mall would have them too
July 21st, 2007 at 5:15 pmI must say I believe that this is a fantastic idea, I mean what other book/movie series has an entire line of candy made for them (especially such a bizarre one). I agree the candy is not appetizing BUT it is an experience I believe all real Harry Potter fans have. I will be willing to try all the new flavors, even though some are worse than others.
July 21st, 2007 at 9:14 pmTo bad that don’t come out with adult flavor jelly beans…
I would explain in greater detail, but this is a where kids visit… So, adults use your imagination!!
Oh Yeah!!!!
September 30th, 2007 at 6:37 pmI TOTALLY and INDEFINATELY agree with comment #10, aka my good fellow Ken ! Putrid all da way, man! Whoever invented vomit flavoured Bertie Botts Every Flava Beans was a true and veritable LA-WRY! I was just chowing down on a sardine bean when i visited your site, Brian ma man.
January 11th, 2008 at 10:01 amAnd Chad, i just turned 32 a few days ago, majorly hit da jackpot on Bertie Botts Every Flava Beans from my mom, and i was thinkin bout dat adult dingwhit as i savoured the varied flavas. I think it will be a great addition to the bunch if some adult ones were thrown in there. you know what im talking bout. Let me give you a few suggestions; just think of what grown ups do. You could have firefighter flavour, (oh, a little spicy there) vet, maybe even office-man flava! Overall, I think that whole sitch would be pre-tty intriguing.
January 11th, 2008 at 10:09 amlata, gatas! (holler at your female)
I wish I could find these LOL! My nine year-old seems to (pretends to) hate disgusting things. In her words: “ew, gross.” And when we found a couple of comedic singers and they put her name in their “Nose Picker” song – she still hasn’t forgiven me. I would love to have her (secretly) try a booger jellybean.
