Finally a “Name That Candy” that I got right - I haven’t been doing very well with those lately. I received this email today from a reader named Tom:
I dont recall much. From the 80’s - red/purple/orange tic tac type candies that came in a horizontal (rectangle) flip top plastic container. There were single flavor and multi flavor available.
Not much to go on, but the Tic Tac gave it away and thankfully I saw this post about Dynamints (with a great picture of the multi-flavor box) not too long ago. I replied with:
Dynamints! They don’t make those anymore. Sorry, you’ll have to settle for Tic Tacs. If you have a Dollar General store around you, they sell a candy called Hit that is like Dynamints/TicTacs. Try those.
