I wish I could stop saying “this is my new favorite candy,†but near-perfect products just keep finding their way from stores to my mouth. That said, Tootsie Roll Mini Chews just might really be my new favorite candy. It took me two or three bites to get used to the taste and texture of chocolate-covered Tootsie Rolls, because the candy was unlike anything else I’ve ever tried. By the fourth bite, I was hooked.
Each piece is about half the size of a regular Tootsie Roll and generously covered in milk chocolate. It’s the sort of candy that can easily be tossed into the mouth over and over again. In fact, I most enjoyed eating three or four at a time. The Tootsie Roll is wonderfully soft, and the chocolate gives the candy a unique identity without stripping it of authentic Tootsie Roll flavor.
The Mini Chews are available in 2.5 oz and 4.5 oz boxes, and in bags of snack-size boxes. You might want to issue a warning to friends and family who try these—eat at your own risk of addiction. This is the first candy to get our brand new “Awesomely Addictive Candy Award”!

July 28th, 2006 at 7:04 pmInteresting – I hated them. I like the idea of them, but I didn’t like the taste of the chocolate. Now, if they’d been covered with Dove chocolate or something, I would’ve been hooked. I think the packaging is pretty cool though.
July 29th, 2006 at 2:49 amI felt totally the same way. These were in my top five favorite candies of the show.

I found these in the $ store and had to try them after reading the review. They were awesome and I was addicted quickly. BUT…. don’t leave them in the car on a 90+ degree day even for a minute while you run into another store. They all melted together and did not taste the same afterwards.
August 28th, 2006 at 1:10 amI bought these for the sole reason of seeing it on this website. I’m afraid it didn’t wow me as much as I hope it would. The chocolate’s okay, and the Tootsie Roll pieces are just too small, IMO. It was just okay. By the way, do *not* eat this in bed! I woke up this morning with one of these little buggers melted to my mattress!
