Okay, Chocolate Lovers out there; listen up! Do I have a recipe for you! This great old recipe is from the folks at Hershey's Chocolate. Chocolate and cherries just seem to go together and this recipe is more proof of that. When you serve these tasty squares to your friends, be sure to have a copy of the recipe handy. They are sure to ask for it. Or you can be secretive, if you want, and tell them it's one of your vintage recipes that you just don't share. But be warned, they will be expecting you to make them anytime you get together.

I have recently discovered Green & Black's chocolate at the Vitamin Cottage here in Denver while purchasing the Ginger People's Original Ginger Chews(you should review them if you haven't done so). So far, I've tried the Mint bar and the Espresso Coffee bars. Both are exceptional and based on your review and my experience so far, I will be trying all of their bars. The Espresso bar is definately a strong taste and, I agree, can only be consumed in small quantities. I am especially interested in the Caramel, Almond, and White Chocolate bars you reviewed. Although I love white chocolate, most of the stuff you find is more waxy textured than white chocolate should be. Which is kind of a turn-off. Thanks for the review!!

Hi great review. As a non-white chocolate eater in general, I too found this to be the best white chocolate I have ever had. Creamy vanilla-y!

My husband and I both love their chocolates. We love the hazelnut and currant, but did green & black's ever make this version in a milk chocolate? I could have sworn they did and now their website does not show it.

First off great website! Excellent descriptions of the products you review.

Today I was in Target's food isle and I heard about organic chocolate and was curious to try it. You're right about one thing: I know what a Hershey bar tastes like but I never tasted a organic chocolate bar and I bought one. I got the organic Milk Chocolate (Green & Blacks) and I filled up real quick and I didn't even reach half the bar yet (almost the same size as a hershey bar only with Hershey's I do find myself plowing through the entire bars...) so I've got the other half wrapped up and will save it for a snack when I need a chocolate kick.

I'm not a fan of dark chocolate or white chocolate. But the way you described the carmel, mint and espresso bars I'm definately wanting to try. And what I found is organic foods in general is it's expensive but worth it for the price. Because when I read the health labels on the back of each packaging organic is lower in fat then regular old fashion chocolate. And the taste... a tiny bit off but I could still taste the chocolate and even smell it for that matter as it was so fresh. I'm most definately hooked and I'm definately gonna link this page up in a email forward to my buddies who are chocolate fanatics.

Green and Blacks certainly do make a MILK chocolate and almond bar but I promise, at least here in the UK, they also do a DARK chocolate version too and it is the most gorgeous, addictive, heavenly chocolate bar I've ever had. The almonds have a caramelised outer and I can't stop eating it. Our friend claimed he wasn't keen on dark chocolate but he kept eating it too.

The cherry and dark chocolate one is also very nice but I'd say the cherries were bitter. The sour taste really compliments the chocolate but might not suit everyone.

For the healthiest ever dessert, melt a bar of G&B's dark chocolate, whizz up 2 bananas in a blender with a block/carton of silken tofu (275g I think), add the melted chocolate and whizz a bit more. Pour into glasses and leave in the fridge for a bit.

The G&B Almond bar is actually MILK chocolate, which I think is worth mentioning, because (as you say about the "Milk" bar) it's such a different flavor of milk chocolate. Oh, drool.

My husband just brought a Green and Black butterscotch bar from a British Airways flight. Fantastic!!! I ran across this website doing a search for the brand. I hope this is available in the US soon. It's to die for!

I've tried about half of these so far (and am slowly getting around to the other half). The Espresso bar was a little strong for me. I've had that problem with a number of espresso chocolate products (but I'm warming up to them quickly). On the other hand the strength of the spices is what I love about the Maya Gold and Ginger, though I can definitely see how it would not appeal to everybody's tastes. Their Maya Gold Hot Chocolate is awesome as well.

And I love their milk chocolate. It's unlike any I've had before. There is just so much to the flavor that I can't figure out (same boat as you) but it is absolutely wonderful stuff.
