I thought Asse was the worst name for a chocolate candy, then I find this. If Plopp isn’t the worst it’s a strong second. Evidently it’s been around since 1949 and it’s described as “Milk Chocolate Bar, filled with Soft Toffeé” and it looks like the caramel part of a Necco Sky Bar. FYI – Plopp’s maker, Cloetta has a 22% market share in Nordic countries (no wonder I haven’t heard of it).
I wonder if there are some unfortunate meanings for American candy bars in other languages. You’ve gotta figure for every one we find from the Nordic countries, the Balkans or Japan, they must be giggling and tittering at some of our names.

RESPONSE: I have had Skor – didn’t know it meant Shoes :)
