Now here is a unique product I’ve not seen before. From the webpage:
Seated in individual compartments, twelve chocolate bullets lay waiting to be bitten into. Although eleven of the sweet little slugs contain delicious praline centers, one conceals a seriously red hot chili that’s guaranteed to blow your head off – metaphorically, at least.
I wonder what the point is though. Do you hand them out to friends and all bite down at the same time and laugh at the person that gets the pepper? or do you just munch on them by yourself every now and then and hope for the best? Either way, it sounds like fun.
UPDATE: I sent this to BoingBoing and they mentioned it!

February 17th, 2006 at 9:23 am[...] Via Candy Addict, a game where there are 12 chocolate straws shaped like bullets. 11 are filled with delicious goodness, 1 is filled with a hot chillie (with an “e”). This game sounds pretty fun, the site selling it is british and the game itself is 5GBP, don’t know if it’s available in the US or what it would cost to ship it across the ocean… Russian Roulette Chocolate [...]

I was part of a birthday party a couple of years ago where these were handed out with the refrain “careful, they’re hot”. Chewed on one, thought nothing of it and then when no-one else had the hot one either, I realised I must have had it but it wasn’t very hot.
Don’t be fooled!
RESPONSE: Just goes to show you – one person’s pleasure is another person’s pain.

February 18th, 2006 at 4:59 pmPerhaps I’m being silly, but does anyone know how to get these in the United States? All of the websites I’ve found that sell the roulette chocolates are in the UK, and none of them seem able to ship food-goods overseas.
Thanks!
Thalli
RESPONSE: I found the same thing. It only seems to be sold in the UK. If anyone finds a US source, let me know and I’ll spread the word.
