eBay Weirdness: 80 Starburst Wrappers

Starburst wrappers on ebay

So, can anyone tell me why someone would sell 850 empty individual Starburst wrappers? Or, why anyone would think someone would want to buy them? As of the time of me writing this, there is 40 minutes left in the auction and no bids. Surprise, surprise.

RESPONSE: But when you buy empty wrappers, you don’t get to eat the candy!

  2. It’s funny that you mention this auction. Starburst wrappers for sale….who’d buy that. Well I know this is weird but i would. The wrapper s are really colorful and you can cover your school notebooks and even make a collage to frame and hang in your room which is why im looking to buy some cause i cant eat all that candy. But these are just a few ideas.

  3. Hey! I am making a Starburst chain! I need all the wrappers I can get. So far it is not very long, only about 20 feet, but 20 feet is 20 feet. We are trying to make the worlds longest chain. If anyone is willing to help me out I would love it!

  4. i make not only bracelets out of the wrappers, but also purses and other things. candy wrapper purses sell for $30-$60 apiece, but if i make my own i save money. that’s why i would buy the wrappers off ebay.

  5. hey will anyone show me how ot make a purse out of those,I really want to learn!!! I’m trying to make it but i dont really know how to put all the chains together!!

  6. you should have the longest gum wrapper chain pictures!!!it’s the biggest in the wold

  7. :O…850 wrappers??? thats a lot!!…i’d buy it lol…it’d be great for my starburst chain! x]… i dont even know how long mine is……but i’ll never stop with it though!…

  8. I actually need alot of starburst wrappers! I definitely would have bought this if I’d known about it sooner. If anyone else sees anyone else selling the wrappers please let me know!!! I am making a belt out of it, and it takes 12 wrappers to make one 1/2″ stripe on it. It is a master piece!!! I will send pics to anyone interested!!!

  9. well i agreed with bobead coz, the blog is the ONLY one shown how to make a candy wrapper purse so please take a look. i have follow the instruction to make the purse it looks nice.

  10. MAN I wish I had seen this earlier. I have been working on making a little backpack out of the wrappers. It is pretty easy to do. Granted it takes forever but then you have a free backpack that looks cool!!! I would have bought this!! It is much cheaper than buying all the candy, getting sick from it, and then using the wrappers :D

  11. well – I myself would like to find a *few* of them for my vintage food/candy collection – but that is an awful lot – I wish more people would put auctions up like that sort of stuff

  12. Selling Starburst wrappers is smart if you are eating them casually and then decide to sell them. I make bracelets out of them and sell them and there is only so many candies I can consume by myself or shove at my boyfriend to consume.

Now, some people detest candy but still want to partake in wrapper-crafts so buying them from someone who has already disposed of the candies is an awesome thing and is surely cheaper (and less wasteful) than buying bags of Starburst and unwrapping them yourself only to throw out the candy.

I found this post trying to find wrappers for sale and I’m quite surprised that you’ve never heard of wrappers being used for crafts. They’re quite popular and they sell for a pretty penny.
