I just had a soy sauce flavored kit kat , they are only available in Tokyo apparently. It was delicious! I wish my japanese coworkers had brought over more boxes, these could get addicting.

When I lived in Japan, one of my hobbies was buying the regional and seasonal Kit-Kats. My favorites were sakura, green tea, the kakigori (green tea and azuki), apple (Nagano-only), mango (Kyushu/Okinawa only), triple berry, and pumpkin.

I think Noir had just come out as a special edition Kit-Kat when I was there, because I remember getting an especially dark chocolate one with cocoa powder. It was pretty good.
The wine one, given the lightness of the green tea and sakura ones, sounds like it could be good.

I miss the specially flavored Kit-Kats, so I'll have to keep my eyes open for these new special ones Hershey's come out with, especially the Orange Creme and Mint (two of my favorite flavors in general).

My friend brought me a package of Sakura (Cherry blossom flower) flavoured Kit-Kats straight outta Japan. They smelled sweet and were a pale pink and marbled white. Oh, They tasted so effing delicious. The after taste was exactly that of a flower. I'm Sad I Devoured Them So Quickly. But, At 130 Yen, I'd Stock Up On Them If I Were In Japan. Seriously, Let's find a way to have american candy companies think smart and make our candy Cultured.

I just found out about regional kit kats a few months ago from the kit kat wiki, and I just ordered a bunch! Unfortunately I got on board too late to get any wine petits (maybe I'll track some down yet) but I did manage to get some noir petits, even tho they expire in a month! I found a great japanese seller on ebay and also ordered some halloween-candy-style bags of Kit Kat Mango, Orange, Strawberry, Blueberry, Green Tea, and Kakigori (green tea outside + sweet akagi bean inside.) I also got a box of Kit Kat Exotic Hokkaido, which is supposed to be white cheese flavored outside with blueberry and passionfruit inside.

Unfortunately special edition kit kats seem to be some of the most difficult snacks to find online! I dont understand why the United States doesn't get all these great special editions... somebody should write a letter!

RESPONSE: I think special flavored KitKats will be even harder to find soon.

Hi -- you asked on flickr what I thought of the wine kitkats. I did a bit of a writeup at my blog but the short of it is I'm quite fond of them now.
