I found an article on this in the Washington Post today. It’s a board game called called EAT IT! and it’s a trivia game similar to Trivial Pursuit, but all the questions are food-related. The categories are Chocolate, Candy, Cookies, Snacks, Ice Cream and Desserts – five categories I love! The game’s concept was hatched by a Virginia couple who quit their software jobs and threw their energy into creating a board game about snack food and sweets.
The types of EAT IT! trivia questions range from jingles and advertising campaigns, to ingredients, nostalgia, pop culture, and more. Be the first player to collect all five EAT IT! Pyramid Cards and the first to make it to the top of the EAT IT! Pyramid by correctly answering fun and appetizing Snacks & Sweets trivia questions. It sounds like Trivial Pursuit without the wedges and the boring History and Literature questions.
Here are two example (candy) questions:
- What fruity, chewy candy was originally called the Dancing Bear?
ANSWER: (highlight below to see the answer)Gummi Bear - Complete this jingle: “Gimme a break! Gimme a break! Break me off a piece of that ____!
ANSWER: (highlight below)Kit Kat Bar
EAT IT! sells for $30.99 (plus shipping) at the EAT IT! website or can be bought at major retailers and e-tailers nationwide. See the EAT IT! website’s store locator for a location near you.
This game sounds like it’s right up my alley.
