I can only think of a few occasions that I have eaten marshmallows – very occasionally by themselves, but more often in other things like hot chocolate, rice crispy treats, on peanut butter and fluff sandwiches, in chocolate candy bars, in s’mores, and in cereal (Lucky Charms!). Marshmallows just aren’t something I eat solo.
Enter Plush Puffs – the gourmet marshmallows. Is that an oxymoron? Gourmet marshmallows? Not according to the makers of Plush Puffs. These marshmallows are truly gourmet. They come in a variety of different flavors such as Caramel Swirl, Chocolate Chipetta, Maple Pecan, Orange Honey, Peppi-Mint, Toasted Coconut, Sydney’s Cinnamon, Vanilla Bean, and Sam’s Sour Lemon.
I recently got to try all of these flavors of Plush Puffs, and I was surprised at their dense texture. The only marshmallows I have eaten are the ones that come in the big bag in the grocery store and these are much different. I had heard that you could make your own marshmallows from scratch but I wondered why you would want to. Now I know why.
I tried all of the flavors by themselves and they were all very good, but the Plush Puffs website suggests many different uses for the marshmallows in recipes and I think they truly shine in the recipes. My wife tried a Honey Orange marshmallow in a cup of hot chamomile tea – she said it was very good, but she put too much marshamallow in it so it was too sweet.
I tried the Maple Pecan toasted on top of a pancake as the website suggested and it was really good. I also tried a Peppi-Mint marshmallow in a cup of hot chocolate and that too was great. The Plush Puffs website lists many different recipes to use the Plush Puffs in like using them in s’mores, melted on sweet potatoes, in coffee, rice krispy treats, marshmallow nachos, and lots more.
Plush Puffs would make a great Christmas gift for cooks looking for a new ingredient to lend some pizzazz to an old or new recipe, or anyone that just loves marshmallows. For gift-giving, you can choose a “Take two Combo” (two bags of Plush Puffs), or a gift basket that includes a basket of three bags of Plush Puffs. All of these are available for ordering online at the Plush Puffs website

I can’t believe I’m actually tempted to buy: Plush Puffs Gourmet Marshmallows. Imagine melting Peppi-Mint into your hot chocolate, or Orange Honey into your herbal tea. Yum. [thanks, Candy Addict!]

Plush Puffs sound AWESOME. Marshmallows are my absolute favorites! I used to adore the campfire ones that came in small individual boxes. Guess I’ll be going to their web site to order real soon!!

I am looking for a coconut marshmallow cookie. It is in a large package. The cookie could be called snowballs or puffs as long as it is a cookie bottom, marshmallow and coconut on top. Please advise as I would like to order some for a very dear friend!
March 20th, 2006 at 2:34 pmis plush puff a type of candy? or r they just like brownies
November 13th, 2006 at 3:05 pmPlush puffs are marshmallows, They’re just square. but with the most amazing flavors! The chocolate choc. chip when you toast it, it’s like eating warm chocolate pudding, but in a marshmallow! The toasted coconut is amazing. The flavors are so vibrant – the cinammon also has almond flavor in it, it’s just great, I highly recommend them!
December 5th, 2006 at 10:53 amI have tried the plush puffs but I think these are much better. http://www.mannamallows.com. These are less gooey and more candy like.
January 10th, 2007 at 2:37 pmI tried these Plush Puff marshmallows and they were far from good. They were rubbery and you could taste the gelatin (beef) flavor through the product flavor. I would recommend any other gourmet marshmallow over this one.
February 26th, 2007 at 6:47 pmI’m not a big marshmallow fan either. I pretty much only ingest them in hot chocolate, or in the summer after toasting over a bonfire. I had no idea that there was such a thing as “gourmet ‘mallows” though. I bet my son would LOVE them.
March 4th, 2007 at 9:19 pmI’ve tried Plush Puffs and prefer Tuccelli Marshmallow Temptations
June 21st, 2007 at 1:35 pmMy 6-year-old daughter cuaght me looking at this page just as that irrestible image of gourmet marshmellows on a tray was loading. I had to read the entire article to her then promise to toast marshmellows over a fire this evening. I’m going to look for Plush Puffs, but I don’t think I’ll be able to find them in Denmark.
My daughter is insisting on coming with me… and that I say thank you for posting such mouth-watering pictures!

October 1st, 2007 at 6:59 pmI bought these at a local store and found that the weight of the product was 30% less then on the label. I talked witht the store and found that all of the products were under weight. I hope this company has gotten its act together.
October 8th, 2007 at 5:41 pmThis is such a perfect gift for the Christmas season. I think everybody loves mallows especially if it is prepared and a lot to choose from.

October 26th, 2007 at 5:31 amI ordered some a little while back and was not that impressed.
November 12th, 2007 at 4:48 pmThis was the worst Gourmet product I have ever bought. The marshmallows were almost inedible. Five of us tasted them and we had to throw them out. The flavors we tried were vanilla, caramel and chocolate. The texture was also very rubbery and too dense.
December 11th, 2007 at 8:29 pmwow, those look very good!I have never seen gourmet marshmallows before
December 18th, 2007 at 12:40 amWe tried the marshmallows from Plush -Puffs and they were not that great. We gave them away. We thought they would be really good but can’t recommend them. There is another one we tried from Williams & Sonoma over the holiday and they were GREAT! They had the bakery’s name listed so we looked it up. Ordering from the bakery direct is a lot cheaper too. If you want to try a marshmallow that really melts in your mouth try these. I couldn’t stop eating them, they are so good. therubiconbakerystore.com These are to die for!!
February 7th, 2008 at 1:46 pmman i never even heard of these marshmellows but this report and that picture makes it looks like the greatest ‘mallows in the world……..man i want some
April 19th, 2010 at 10:09 pmI’m surprised by some of the negative comments, but everyone likes different things in a marshmallow. I for one, am addicted to these marshmallows. They are delicious and I can’t get enough. I put the Caramel Swirl or Chocalate Chippeta in my coffee every morning, and it is sublime. I’m not sure I can drink my coffee anymore without these marshmallows! They melt beautifully, taste great, and are not too sweet. I think they are perfect!
