The 8th Annual Chocolate Show, a four day festival devoted entirely to chocolate, began today in NYC. Lasting from Thursday, November 10 to Sunday, November 13, the show is “…the ultimate festival of world class exhibitors, chef demonstrations, chocolate fashion and showpieces, tantalizing gifts, activities for children, and more !” Man, this makes me wish I were in NYC so I could attend. Maybe next year.
To kick things off, the Gala and Chocolate Fashion Show was held on Tuesday – tickets were only $150 each…I hope they got to eat some chocolate too for that price. You can see some more pictures of the fashion (and I use the term loosely) at Xinhua.

HI candyaddict,
I am writing to let you know that this year I have boycotted The 8th Annual NYC Chocolate Show. I can’t believe that they have raised the ticket price to $25. I have been going since 1997 and this will be the first year that I’ve skipped it. They’ve also taken away the student rate, so I feel for those college students. (That was how I got in the first place, as a college student, just passing by). Anyway, I’ve heard that their not giving away more samples or more services. So why the rate hike???
Anyway, hopefully next year, they realize that there are those who do not get easily duped by the hype, and take advantage of my fellow chocolate addicts. Thanks!!!
