I agree that the salty/sweet combination has great potential (my favorite Ben and Jerry's flavor, Chubby Hubby, has the sweet/salty thing going on.) But, I'd really prefer it to be fresh. I'd be a bit leary of eating, say, chocolate-covered bacon out of a box. Only homemade chocolate-covered bacon for me. :)

I actually think real bacon + chocolate is awesome. My mom made doughnuts one morning, and made a chocolate glaze to frost them with. She also made bacon. I got the strangest idea, smelling the bacon and the chocolate at the same time. I dipped the bacon into the chocolate glaze, and WALAHH! It was wonderful!!! But I don't think bacon-flavored chocolate bars will have the same effect... you gotta do it yourself, man.

[...] I am amazed at how often bacon and candy cross paths. Candy Addict has done articles on chocolate-covered bacon, gummi bacon, and bacon jellybeans. Now we can add Bacon Mints to the list. When I was offered some Bacon Mints to review, I immediately said “hell, yes!” but wondered what they would taste like. [...]

[...] What is it with candy and bacon? You would think the two would never meet, but they have…multiple times. Chocolate-covered bacon, bacon-flavored jellybeans, and now Gummi Bacon. Serve some Gummi Bacon on a plate with some gummi fried eggs and you’re well on your way to a well-balanced (gummi) meal. Uncle Oinker’s Gummy Bacon These succulent strips of Gummy Bacon are so realistic you’ll want to fry some up and serve them with an egg and a side of hash browns. But please don’t. Gummy Bacon should only be savored raw. Each illustrated window box contains four 20 gram slices of strawberry flavored gummy meat sealed in a plastic bag. [...]

I tried it and it's not bad. Both are better by themselves, but they are not that bad together.
