Ah, I am young still and remember my days of trick-or-treating. We always went to rich neighborhoods, where we got full size bars at some houses :) Also these pretzels shaped like bats and pumpkins, and fancy Halloween fruit snacks.

This year, taking my kids out to the "nice" neighborhood netted them not only two big fistsful of candy each, but also a pack each of CapriSun and the offer of a cocktail for me, their Mommy. I politely declined, but my kids made off with something to wash their treats down with!

I think the REAL reason you see full-sized candy bars at Halloween is because the givers of such waited too late to buy their Halloween treats, and that\'s all their corner market had to offer. So, the kids benefit...

RESPONSE: I don\'t know about other instances, but in this case, the full-size bars were definitely intentional :)

Woo Hoo. I'm one of those houses that gives out Full Sized Candy Bars. I love the look on kid's faces as I give them a choice of bars, it's just the coolest feeling...

[...] Even worse than the fun size are the bite size candies. Those are so heinous I can’t even bring myself to speak of them. Give me a full-size candy bar over the “fun” size anyday. [...]

Yeah, my friend lives a few blocks from this really nice neighborhood. When we were around 12 we trick or treated there, and there was a few houses where we got the mini chocolates, but most places there were full sized, once KING SIZED candy bars, and a lot of grab bags that were huge.

Good times.

I thought everyone knew of the house that always gave away full sized Hershey bars. There was only one house that did it so we'd be sure to try to hit it up a couple of times. Of course, there were those people who just put their candy in a bowl on their front porch. So, unless you were one of the first 4 people to the house then you weren't going to find any candy.

RESPONSE: Nope - that was the first time I ever heard of it

I hated the people that gave out popcorn balls, fruit, mung, and tooth brushes (he was a dentist and he had his dental practice name and phone number on each tooth brush).

RESPONSE: If you haven't already, read this post about Things I Hate About Halloweeen: http://candyaddict.com/blog/2005/10/26/ten-things-i-hate-about-halloween/ --The Candy Kid
