So my daughter was eating a Bug Safari Kid Cuisine meal the other day (a TV dinner for kids) and it came with a small pack of Black Forest Fun Bugs. Not ever having heard of Fun Bugs before, let alone tried them, I asked her if I could have one. She complied and handed me a green one with some kind of orangish center. For some reason, I felt the need to push on the “bug” to see what the orangish stuff was and the thing burst out creamy orangish goo all over my fingers. It looked just like the insides of a bug. It thoroughly grossed me out for some reason and I gave the candy back to my daughter. Next time I’ll give it a try since I’ll now know what to expect, but MAN that freaked me out.

September 9th, 2006 at 10:50 pmI can’t find them in grocery stores here anymore, though.
The gummy is just right and the goo is just sour enough.
I’ve seen them at Brooks Pharmacy in my town (like CVS). I think Brooks used to be OscoDrug.

August 16th, 2009 at 4:26 amThey’re really good, and I think they’re made from real fruit juice as well.
Ah, nevermind, they’re in the shape of fruit, not buggies. ;_;

Oh my goodness! My son had a Kid Cuisine with Fun Bugs in it the other day, too. I couldn’t resist and had to try one. And they are AMAZINGLY GOOD!!! The sweet, gummy outside (softer than your average gummy bear) coupled with the squishy, sour liquid center is an absolutely wonderful combination!! I want to buy more of these things if I can find them! These are the best gummy candy I’ve ever had and I highly recommend them. (Try not to let the “disgust factor” keep you from trying them!) They’re absolutley delicious!!!! ;D
